Grade 3, £40,476 - £46,731 per annum

The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Programmes and Compliance team.

This role will lead on contracts and compliance in developing and managing international and national funding bids, to serve as the council’s external funding specialist and to manage contract monitoring and compliance functions.

This role will also support the Procurement team and ensure contract management forms a key part of council wide procurement exercises.

This role will work with all service areas within the council to offer support and guidance for service managers on contract and compliance.

You’ll have relevant qualifications and experience in managing public grants and funds, which will include working with a wide range of related external agencies, successful grant bid development, project management and the management of information and international partnerships. You’ll have excellent financial and project management skills and can work to demanding deadlines.

A key part of this role will be to ensure these grants are maximised for benefit of Hastings’ residents and businesses.

Who are you?

We are looking for is someone with a strong track record of compliance and contract management. You will be someone who wants to become involved in the shaping of our town in a sustainable way, through applying for and managing external funding.

You will be able to understand a range of funding sources and grant applications. You’ll have the ability to work under your own initiative and project manage your work to meet council and government targets. You will be able to work in a small team as well as on your own.

You’ll have a basic understanding of the procurement regulations for local government.

This job is suited to someone:

  • with existing experience as a Compliance Officer, or
  • who has worked in a contract management and compliance focussed role either in the public or private sector.

You’ll have excellent communication and customer-care skills, the ability to work flexibly, as part of a busy and high performing team.
