This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the management and delivery of contracts across Bristol City Council's Housing Repairs & Maintenance Service, with a £42m annual revenue budget and £90m annual capital programme.
Working alongside Contracts Managers and operational teams, you will provide commercial, administrative and performance management support across a diverse portfolio of contracts, helping to ensure services are delivered effectively, achieve value for money and meet the needs of Bristol's residents.
You will also support the rollout and ongoing administration of the NEC Contractor Portal, assisting with contractor onboarding, account creation and maintenance, responding to user queries and supporting contractors and colleagues to maximise adoption of the platform.
You will support contracts across a range of areas, including:
What do I need to have?
We are looking for an organised, analytical and customer-focused individual with experience of working in a contract management, commercial, procurement, performance management or administrative environment. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, working with a range of stakeholders and ensuring activities are delivered accurately and to agreed timescales.
Knowledge and understanding of contract law, procurement processes and public-sector governance would be advantageous, as would experience within a housing, construction, repairs and maintenance or local authority environment. Experience of supporting system implementations, user administration, contractor onboarding, or supplier engagement activities would also be beneficial.
You should be confident in supporting staff and working with stakeholders to promote system adoption and continuous improvement. Knowledge or experience of Proactis, Atamis, NEC Housing’s Contractor Portal, or similar procurement and contract management systems would be advantageous.
A relevant qualification or commitment to professional development would also be beneficial.
This role will be primarily office based at Sandy Park to support operational and contract management teams. Some hybrid working will be possible. You will be required to attend meetings with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders, which may be held face to face.
