About the team
The role supports the performance and management of key corporate contracts within the Property team to ensure robust contract and performance management practices are adhered to. We are looking for a candidate who understands the need to follow contractual procedures and has good attention to detail.
Key stakeholders will include Council Contract Managers as well as external Contract Representatives to ensure contracts are delivered in line with the specification and performance requirements.
The role is part of a small team of 5 where other team members focus on the procurement and preparation of contracts.
The role will encourage the successful candidate to bring new ideas on how to improve current processes around the performance and management of contracts.
About the role
- Create and maintain accurate records for monitoring and scoring contract key performance indicators in line with contract requirements.
- Analyse and present information on contract performance, drawing conclusions and identifying trends that may require action.
- Attend contract management meetings and ensure detailed minutes/actions are captured and lead on contract performance elements.
- Capture contractual changes and follow procedures for relevant change control/variation documents.
- Ensure any actions agreed at contract management meetings are taken forward and delivered in a timely way.
- Provide information and practical routine advice in line with established procedures to ensure best practice.
- Provide specialist or procedural guidance and resolve complex issues.
- Respond and resolve enquiries and problems and judge when to pass onto or involve others to ensure a professional service is delivered to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support contract managers at procurement stage for developing key performance indicators that are appropriate to the service requirements.
- Keep up to date with changes in contractual requirements.
About you
Essential
- Experience in the management and performance of contracts.
- Detailed knowledge of developing and monitoring contract key performance indicators.
- Ability to organise own work, plan ahead for others, taking into account priorities.
- Ability to work independently within a framework of systems and procedures.
- Experience of preparing and presenting contract performance data that is easily understood by others.
- Competent in both written and verbal communications.
Desirable
- Experience of Property related contracts such as services, consultancy and works.
- Knowledge of Public Sector procurement.
This role will give the successful candidate the opportunity to drive effective contract delivery which in turn ensures quality services and value for money for the Council.
The types of contracts can range from facilities management services such as security, waste and cleaning through to large building contracts for new schools, refurbishments to libraries, fire stations and other Council service buildings.
