Cosmetic Treatments Compliance Officer (Part-Time, 4 Days per Week)

Location: Kent County Council, Trading Standards
Contract: Part-time (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week)
Salary: KSD Grade (pro rata)
Funding: Public Health Grant

Are you ready to make a difference in an emerging and fast-changing market? Kent County Council Trading Standards is seeking a proactive and committed individual to join us as a Cosmetic Treatments Compliance Officer. This is a brand new, part-time post funded by Public Health, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of cosmetic procedure regulation in Kent.

About the Role:
You will lead on enforcing the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 and other relevant legislation, focusing on the growing market for cosmetic treatments such as botox, fillers, and other novel procedures. Working closely with partner agencies—including Public Health, local councils, and professional bodies—you’ll help ensure responsible service provision, protect young people, and promote best practice across the county.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and map the local cosmetic treatments market, providing guidance to practitioners.
  • Conduct compliance visits and act on intelligence or complaints.
  • Deliver advice to businesses and support test purchasing operations.
  • Develop a social media presence to engage and educate the public.
  • Serve as a single point of contact for partner agencies and contribute to joint operations.
  • Record and report activity, supporting an intelligence-led approach.

About You:
You’ll have experience working independently, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of compliance or regulatory environments. You’ll be comfortable using IT systems and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. Knowledge of age-restricted products or Trading Standards work is desirable.
