About the rolePurpose of the job To assess and take the requisite action in relation to licensing applications and to undertake compliance and enforcement activities and actions in accordance with law, statutory guidance, codes of practice and policy to ensure the Council meets its statutory obligations. Trading Standards Officer
About the Role: 
As a Trading Standards Officer you will be required to carry out the full range of statutory trading standards enforcement duties, depending on qualifications and competency, in relation to weights and measures, food standards, intellectual property, fair trading law, consumer product safety, credit, feeding stuffs and fertilisers, doorstep crime and underage sales.
You will carry out criminal compliance enforcement activities across the regulatory service functions whilst working within a generic team carrying out inspections, projects, and investigations into complex and serious breaches of trading standards legislation, identify legal contraventions and select, recommend and execute appropriate enforcement activity based on assessed risk.
You will have sole responsibility for undertaking this work and the duties will include presenting solutions to bring a resolution to complex issues.
About the candidate:

<li>Professional CTSI qualification: Diploma in Trading Standards (DTS) or its equivalent Weights and Measures and Food Standards modules are essential for this role.</li>

In return, as a police officer transferring from a Home Office Police Force, you will retain: <ul><li>Your previous service and current levels of pay (excluding force specific benefits i.e. London weighting).</li><li>Annual leave entitlement, as long as there is no break in service.</li><li>Your current pension arrangements. </li></ul>Inclusivity is important to Leicestershire Police which is why we are looking for talented individuals to reflect the communities we serve. Whatever your background, ethnicity, gender, religion or sexual orientation, we welcome you and your application.The must haves<ul><li>Be a member of a Home Office force or Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) or Police Scotland (please note we cannot accept an application to transfer from an officer serving with a non-Home Office police force). </li><li>If you are a re-joiner, you will be required to undertake a 6-month probation period. If you are re-joining at a different rank or you left your previous force more than 1 year ago, you will be required to undertake a 12-month probationary period.</li><li>Re-joiners at the same rank will re-enter the service on the pay scale point at which they left their previous force. Officers re-joining at a higher or lower rank will have their pay considered on a case-by-case basis.</li><li>Have a full manual driving licence.</li><li>Have no outstanding discipline or integrity issues.</li><li>Be confirmed in rank.
