Join our Commercial Team at L&Q:
L&Q’s Commercial team within Property Services is looking for a skilled Cost Consultant to support the delivery of our Major Works and Investment Programme. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to shaping L&Q’s approach to introduce an internal cost management and play a key role in driving value for money across our projects.
As a Cost Consultant, you will provide expert cost advice and analysis, ensuring robust financial governance and cost transparency. You’ll work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to monitor, report, and control costs effectively, helping us deliver maximum impact for our residents and stakeholders.
Produce quarterly commercial overviews, market trend analysis, and audit/valuation assurance reports. Conduct quarterly valuation reviews for a region consisting of 3 to 4 contractors, checking compliance with the Price Framework. Conduct in-depth audits of build-ups, variations, and open book data. Produce reconciliation reports, identify anomalies, and recommend improvements. Manage final account audits and ensure appropriate shared savings calculations.

Your impact in the role:
To be considered for this role candidates will be able to demonstrate experience, knowledge and understanding of:
· Managing budgetary constraints using forensic cost control techniques
· Strong analytical skills and will be highly numerate with data interrogation skills
· Experience of managing principal and subcontractor arrangements
· You will have a good understanding of Cost value reconciliation
· Commercial Awareness with good legal/contractual knowledge
· Competent in use of standard methods of measurement and use of NHF SoR’s
What you'll bring:
· Degree or HNC level in a related discipline or equivalent substantial experience
· It is desirable for candidates to be professionally qualified member of CIOB/RICS but not essential.
