Do you love working with children and creating spaces where they can play, explore and feel secure?

At Hopian, we believe that every child deserves a safe, welcoming environment where they can have fun, build confidence and simply enjoy being a child. We are looking for a caring and reliable Crèche Worker to join our team and help make this happen.

Our crèche service enables parents and carers to access vital support groups and services, knowing their children are safe, happy and well cared for. Your role will be central to removing barriers that prevent families from getting the support they need.

Working alongside another Crèche Worker, you will create positive experiences for children through play, creativity and nurturing care, helping them feel comfortable, included and supported.

What You will Be Doing

As a Crèche Worker, you will:

• Provide safe, nurturing and responsive care for babies and children attending the crèche.
• Create engaging activities that encourage learning, creativity, movement and play.
• Support children to settle into sessions and respond sensitively to their individual needs.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and welcoming environment where every child feels valued.
• Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and wellbeing.
• Work closely with parents, carers and colleagues to ensure children receive the best possible support.
• Follow Hopian's child-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive approach.

What We are Looking For

• Patient, compassionate and non-judgemental.
• Confident in creating age-appropriate and engaging play opportunities.

You will also need:

• A Level 3 or above childcare or early years qualification.
• Experience caring for or working with babies and/or children under eight years old.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Paediatric First Aid certification completed within the last two years.
• The ability to commit reliably to agreed sessions and complete mandatory training.

Working Pattern

Sessions are typically 3.5 hours long and are usually arranged in five-week blocks, providing flexibility while supporting consistency for families.

Current provision is:

• Tuesday afternoons
• Thursday mornings

Additional sessions may become available as services develop.
