Curriculum Manager: Computing

Fixed Term, Maternity Cover Until 13/03/2027

£47,391.00 - £49,630.00 per annum including London Weighting Allowance

United Colleges Group are currently seeking an ambitious and experienced Curriculum Manager for Computing to provide strong operational and academic leadership during a period of maternity cover. Reporting to the Assistant Principal, you will play a key role in shaping an outstanding learner experience and driving continuous improvement across teaching, learning and assessment.

Who we are

UCG provides education to over 11,000 learners a year, including 16–18-year-olds, adults, apprentices, and students with high needs.  

With an annual turnover of over £50m, we are one of the top 20 largest college groups in the UK. We offer education and training in almost all vocational areas at a variety of levels for a wide range of learners of all ages and starting points.  

Our students UCG attracts students from across London and beyond. Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds. In the academic year 2022-23, we enrolled more than 3500 full time 16-18 students, 8,000 adult learners and over 450  apprentices across our Group. UCG currently enrol 250+ HE students per year, across 4 campuses onto 12 courses from STEM subjects (Science, Construction, Engineering, and Computing) to Business, Music and Professional Qualifications.  

We have around 1,000 dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for two Curriculum Manager for Engineering, Construction and the Built Environment (ECBE) to join our cohort of dedicated staff.

About the Roles

As a member of the College’s management team, you will lead and inspire a curriculum team, ensuring high-quality, industry-relevant provision that meets the needs of learners, employers and stakeholders. You will be responsible for curriculum performance, staff development, student outcomes and quality assurance, while contributing to wider College and Group priorities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing operational leadership for the Computing curriculum, ensuring delivery is high quality, cost-effective and compliant
  • Leading, managing and developing staff through effective performance management, coaching and professional development
  • Driving excellence in teaching, learning and assessment, using data to improve retention, achievement, progression and student satisfaction
  • Leading on curriculum planning, timetabling, resource management and student recruitment to meet agreed targets
  • Contributing to self-assessment, quality improvement planning and Ofsted readiness
  • Ensuring strong pastoral support and a safe, inclusive learning environment for all learners
  • Building productive relationships with employers, schools and external partners to enhance curriculum relevance and opportunities
  • Teaching up to 10 hours per week, maintaining credibility and visibility within the curriculum area
