JFK Special School is looking to appoint a Curriculum Pathway Leader (CPL) to provide leadership of pupil development and achievement.

Start date: September 2025

CPL's are middle leaders, overseeing a team of teachers across 3-5 classes with students with similar learning needs and profiles. They are responsible for the teaching, learning and provision within their pathway.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and management of pupil development and achievement across key Stage 3 at our Beckton site.
  • Facilitating development of high quality teaching and learning in classrooms.
  • Demonstrating the skills of an effective classroom teacher.
  • Being a member of the site leadership team and assist in managing the site.
  • Being a Deputy DSL.
  • Modelling effective classroom leadership through a 50 percent teaching commitment.

The school is spread across four sites with a CPL vacancy currently at our Beckton ASC provision.

  • Our Beckton site caters for children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions (ASC), and severe learning disabilities (SLD), aged 11-19.
  • You will have a strong values-driven approach to education, ensuring school is a fantastic place to work and learn.
  • You are able to provide a stimulating environment where children and young people can be safe and enjoy learning, as well as supporting a dedicated staff team.
  • Staff are our most important resource and we invest heavily in coaching and CPD based on individual needs.

There will be options for career progression at JFK and our partner schools in the Learning in Harmony Trust in the future for successful applicants. If you are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse needs, we invite you to explore rewarding opportunities within our Trust.

JFK is a creative and innovative school that is committed to providing an outstanding education for children with a wide range of learning needs. JFK is part of Learning in Harmony Trust (www.lihtrust.uk) and as such you will be joining a friendly, enthusiastic and well qualified staff team in a highly stimulating and rewarding environment.

If you have the appropriate experience, ambition and welcome a challenge, then please contact Nathan Taylor, Head of Provision, on 02085348544 / info@jfk.lihtrust.uk if you would like further information or to arrange a school visit.

Closing date: 14th July 2025

Interview date: 17th July 2025
