We have a fantastic opportunity available for a Cemeteries Officer to join our dynamic Place Clienting team on a 30 hours per week basis.
We are seeking a part time Officer to oversee a range of administrative and operational duties including statutory functions, burials, management of the cemeteries and helping with the bereaved in often poignant circumstances. It is a perfect role for a candidate who likes variety and managing relationships.
You will need to hold a full, clean UK driver licence and own a car insured for business use.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage the Cemetery operations and functions
- Ensure the Health and Safety of the cemeteries is maintained in conjunction with our contractors
- Provide expert advice to Councillors, senior managers and residents
- To undertake and progress existing projects in line with our Climate Emergency Action Plan
- Keep updated with current legislation and government changes
- To help train and coach colleagues on the team including new colleagues and cross training within the team as well as attendance at relevant meetings.
Candidate requirements:
- Experience of working in an office environment.
- A commitment to embracing change.
- High level of empathy and good communication and customer care skills.
- The ability to interpret, extract and assess important information.
- The ability to work with volume and be accurate.
- Customer service ethos, striving to continually improve.
- The ability to work on their own initiative and take ownership as well as working as part of a team.
- Working with colleagues to achieve service performance targets.
- Good IT skills.

Salary range
- £31,537 - £35,414 per year
