Contract Type: FTC until 31st July 2027 (Maternity cover), Full-Time, 35 hours

Salary: Starting from £65,913 per annum (London weighted salary) or £57,900 per annum (Regional salary), dependant on experience

Grade: 11

Reporting Office: London, Stratford or Manchester, Trafford

Persona: Agile Worker: 20% - 40% of contractual hours to be worked from reporting office/working location (hybrid working)

Join our Data Governance and Design section at L&Q as a manager of our Data Quality and Assurance Team:

This is a fantastic opportunity to apply and develop your Data Governance skills and expertise as L&Q starts on a journey to embed our new Data Governance Framework, take control of our data assets and put robust data management at the heart of our systems development, business reporting and decision-making.

You will manage an expanded team of data quality and assurance professionals working closely with line of business departments and overseeing operational data assurance. You will also work with other support and change teams to ensure future systems and processes build in data quality, privacy and governance by design. Oversight and delivery of regulatory reporting is a further core responsibility of the team.

This role and team are fundamental to enabling these goals with accurate data, more effective and efficient business processes and systems, and data-driven decision-making.

You will report to the Head of Governance and Design in the Business Information and Analytics department.

Your impact in the role:

Your main duties will be supporting the Head of Governance and Design in ensuring the effectiveness of the data and creation of reference and training artefacts.

You will work closely with:

  • Data Owners and Data Stewards across the business to address and mitigate data risks
  • Your peers within the Data teams, Technology, and Transformation and Change to deliver our target operating model
  • External advisors and internal business leads and validators to deliver regulatory returns

How you will help achieve departmental targets and goals:

  • Governance hierarchy
  • Directing your team in their data quality and assurance duties, determining priorities and allocating resources to analyse and mitigate data quality issues
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion and submission of regulatory data returns
  • Directing your team in collaborative projects to design, develop and implement new or improved business processes and systems
  • Contributing to the advancement of corporate data literacy through communication, influencing

What you'll bring:

  • You will have demonstrable experience of managing a team responsible for data assurance and governance, ideally within a regulated business sector
  • You will have a track record of stakeholder engagement at a senior management level and be able to demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of any of: Master Data Management, data migration projects, or the social housing sector will be an advantage
