
Data Intelligence Adviser (Inclusion)
We are looking for a talented Data Intelligence Adviser (Inclusion) to join our Strategic Intelligence Service, supporting the Inclusion Service and helping drive improvements for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and other vulnerable groups.
About the role
In this role, you will act as the day-to-day lead for data and intelligence within the Inclusion Service, working closely with service leaders and colleagues to understand their data needs and provide meaningful insight.
You will be responsible for analysing complex datasets from a range of systems, bringing together information to identify trends in demand, performance, and outcomes, and presenting these in a clear and accessible way to support decision-making.
A key part of the role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality data products, including dashboards and reports, to support strategic planning and service improvement.You will use tools such as Power BI and Excel to create engaging visualisations that help stakeholders understand performance and priorities.
You will take the lead on statutory data returns, including SEN2 and the Alternative Provision Census, ensuring submissions are accurate, timely, and meet national requirements.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the council and with external partners, you will help ensure that data is shared securely and effectively, in line with governance and safeguarding requirements.
You will also play a key role in improving data quality and processes, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting the development of more advanced analytics, including predictive approaches to better target services earlier.
As part of the wider Strategic Intelligence Service, you will work flexibly to respond to emerging priorities, provide support across service areas, and contribute to building a strong, resilient data and insight function.
The Ideal candidate
We are looking for someone who is analytical, proactive, and passionate about making a difference through data.
You will have:
- Significant experience in data analysis, intelligence, or a related field
- Strong skills in Excel and experience using reporting or database tools
- Experience creating dashboards and data visualisations (e.g., Power BI)
- The ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly to a range of audiences
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and confidentiality requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
Experience within children’s services, SEND, or education data systems (e.g., Synergy or Capita ONE) is desirable but not essential.

Salary range
- £36,363 - £39,151 per year
