
Data Transformation Team Manager - Local Land Charges
Job summary
This is a key role in the Local Land Charges Programme, working as part of the Data Transformation Team. You will be responsible for providing first and second line management to both the Data Transformation Team and the activities they perform, including scanning, data input, spatial data creation and query resolution tasks to support the migration of local authority local land charges onto HM Land Registry’s digital register.
As part of a team of Managers you will be responsible for ensuring the Data Transformation Team have access to the right support from HM Land Registry contacts to deliver data centric tasks to agreed processes.
You will develop good working relationships with the necessary contacts to support and improve working processes to enable the Data Transformation Team to progress migration activities smoothly and consistently. You will support team development and influence the shaping of the Data Transformation Team as part of continuous improvement.
You will be responsible for ensuring the application of agreed digitisation processes within each data migration, and you will be able to identify and ultimately support fresh opportunities for new migration approaches as driven by data uncovered within each migration.
Within this fast-paced role, you will be supporting and collaborating with the HM Land Registry Quality Team, HM Land Registry Business Analysts and HM Land Registry Data Managers to drive appropriate solutions to enable migration activities within agreed timescales.
You will support change management and continuous improvement within the team and support wider logistics to ensure that the Data Transformation Team have the tools and resources available to complete the migration work necessary to agreed timelines

Job description
The successful candidate will be:
- Supporting the development of fresh approaches as needed, to enable migrations to progress at pace.
- Leading and developing a team of Data Transformation line managers, providing expert support, guidance and troubleshooting for their roles and an escalation point for any issues raised.
- Supporting and leading recruitment campaigns where necessary to shape the Data Transformation Team in line with continuous improvement and to support migration activity.
- Proactively managing and supporting change activity within the Data Transformation Team
- Driving improvements in quality and efficiency standards within your team
- Identifying opportunities to collaborate across the Local Land Charges Programme, and with key stakeholders to help drive improvements
- Participating in the evaluation of digitisation and transformation activity as part of continuous improvement activity.
- Actively contributing to the work of the Data Production Management Team, offering timely updates on assigned tasks at weekly feedback sessions, escalating issues where appropriate.
Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week. Please note that this role will require occasional travel to other HMLR offices and local authorities and other locations to support migration activity, including over-night stays.
