The Construction Team is one of several that report to the Head of Works within the Assets &amp; Environment Service which, in turn, sits within the Place, Economy &amp; Environment Directorate.The work of delivering construction projects on corporate properties requires the Team to works with a range of clients from within the Council such as Education, Adult Services, Northampton Children’s Trust and external partners and tenants. WNC delivers a high profile and wide-ranging capital programme to improve its existing assets portfolio and create new assets such as schools, commercial units and cycling &amp; walking infrastructure to ensure effective and practical environments for the benefits of our community, frontline services and end users, some of which are vulnerable adults and children. Therefore, the role provides a high degree of job satisfaction through the creation of tangible social, economic and environmental benefits that contribute to the objectives and priorities in the Council’s Corporate Plan and are inherent in many of the projects being delivered. &nbsp;&nbsp;The role also enables the Council to fulfil many of its statutory obligations such as building safety, working, living and care standards and the provision of school place. The Skills &amp; Employment Unit is responsible for overseeing adult skills delivery in London following delegation of the Adult Skills Fund from the DfE to the Greater London Authority in 2019 and the introduction of Skills Bootcamps in 2022.
The Skills and Employment Unit’s Funding Policy and Systems Team is responsible for data collection and processing related to London’s adult education and skills programmes and produces a range of data products to support delivery of the Mayor’s priorities in this area.

You will lead the planning, design and delivery of user research with users of the team’s data products to understand their needs and requirements and work with the development team to design potential solutions.
The team has recently started embedding user-centred approaches in its work. This role is within the Digital Experience Unit (DEU), which is responsible for the delivery of all internal and external digital products and services at the GLA.
<h2>About the team </h2>
Digital and data services at the GLA play a critical role in enabling the delivery of the functions of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly, and a dedicated focus on user needs is critical to ensuring these services provide the best experience for our users.
This matrix-managed role sits in the Product team, but will work with the Grant Services team; a newly formed team situated within the Digital Experience Unit who are designing a new service to support grants management across the GLA Group.
Our portfolio of projects is not just focused on replacing systems but looking at the full end-to-end experience of grantees, grant making teams and other users, and the support provided to them through people, technology,&nbsp;policy&nbsp;and guidance.  &nbsp;

GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.
