Key Responsibilities:

<li>Help make sure the council’s productivity projects are planned, organised, and reported on, working with other colleagues in the Business Change team.</li>
<li>Collect and create reports about productivity projects for the Corporate Leadership Team.</li>

Candidate Requirements:

<h4>About the Role</h4>
We're seeking a Service Manager to lead our new service which is opening based in Bermondsey, an Independent Approved Premises (IAP) commissioned by Criminal Justice Services (CJS). The service works with residents who have recently been released from prison and helps them to reintegrate into the community, and restart their journey to independence. The team will identify resident needs alongside any licensing restrictions, and will create tailored, person centred support plans including housing support, activities, and personal journey outcomes to help them to reintegrate. The team work in a multi disciplinary approach, working alongside probation services, job centres, mental health teams, and other community partners, with a focus on risk management and public protection.&nbsp;
As a Service Manager, you will lead the team by providing line management and leadership support to enable and empower the team to deliver high quality support to our residents. You will drive service outcomes in line with our contractual requirements, ensuring quality, consistency, within a trauma informed setting. You will ensure all aspects of the service run smoothly and in collaboration with our internal teams and external partners. About the roleEconomic Growth &amp; Sustainability is part of the Council’s Place &amp; Economy Directorate and spans different activities from inward investment and business support to external funding and programme management, to digital and electric vehicle infrastructure, to climate change and sustainable living.External funding is a crucial element of the team’s work. It is responsible for identifying opportunities, developing business cases, bids, and submissions to secure funding to support economic growth and regeneration, and putting in place robust processes and systems to ensure that resources are targeted to deliver improved outcomes. This involves a mixture of bidding in competition with other areas and securing funding which has been provisionally allocated to the area but requires the submission of an Investment Plan or similar case to confirm and drawdown the allocation. In recent years, the team has managed one of the largest Community Renewal Fund programmes in England and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) with over £10m secured for local projects supporting businesses, communities, and skills. in competition with other areas. Pivotal to this was being able to demonstrate stakeholder engagement to inform the interventions that would be prioritised for support through this funding, and political support from the areas’ MPs. Details of activities that are being delivered through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund are available at <a href="https://www.northnorthants.gov.uk/communities-assets-and-grants/shared-prosperity-fund" target="_blank">Shared Prosperity Fund | North Northamptonshire Council (northnorthants.gov.uk)</a>. The team uses a triage system to signpost businesses to sources of specialist help. It also attends local business events and meetings to explain the services offered by the Council, gather intelligence, take ‘soundings,’ and provide advice and support. With North Northants a target for housing growth, it is vital that new businesses are attracted to support the growing population and reduce out-commuting. Inward investment is an important activity for the team. Some of the recent enquiries which the team has dealt with include investments by Iron Mountain (Information Management Services), Ball Corporation (Manufacturing), Navarra (Manufacturing), and Nike (Sports). The team manages the Superfast Northamptonshire initiative which is bringing new investment in digital connectivity to Northamptonshire. This role supports residents in temporary housing who are facing challenges with substance misuse. As a Service Manager, you’ll lead a dedicated team, making sure we deliver high quality support, performance and improvements across our service whilst representing values of the organisation. You'll play a hands on role in supporting individuals facing addiction, homelessness, and complex needs guiding them towards stability, independence, and brighter futures.
The service focuses on providing a 24 hour, 25 bed accommodation service to residents who are deemed to be high risk. They support those who are experiencing homelessness. All admissions are jointly agreed, and placements reviewed at a weekly Complex Needs Panel chaired by the local authority. Residents are agreed on the basis that they are:&nbsp;

 Essential requirements&nbsp;
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
<ul>
<li>Hold, or be on track to obtain, a minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree in any subject by summer 2026</li>
<li>Have the right to work in the UK for the full duration of the two-year programme. Visa sponsorship is not available - more information on eligibility and right to work requirements is available on&nbsp;<a href="https://www.local.gov.uk/impact-local-government-graduate-programme-candidates/impact-local-government-graduate-programme-2" target="_blank">Impact's FAQs page</a>. &nbsp;</li>
</ul>
You must also meet&nbsp;at least one&nbsp;of the following criteria:
<ul>
<li>Currently live in Brent and have done so for at least two years</li>
<li>Have studied at a Brent secondary or further education provider (school, college or PRU)</li>
<li>Be a Brent care leaver</li>
<li>Have been a Brent Council employee for more than one year &nbsp;</li>
</ul>
The application process
All applicants must demonstrate their understanding of Impact's key skills and behaviours through a competitive, multi-stage process. Local candidates complete the same assessments as national candidates but receive a guaranteed interview with Brent if successful at the assessment centre.
Situational Judgement Test (SJT)
You will complete an online SJT as part of the initial application. It contains 24 realistic scenarios with multiple response options. The test is:

<li>Untimed, but must be completed in one sitting</li>
<li>Completed after your application questions</li>
<li>Submitted before your application can be finalised</li>
</ul>
