This position requires flexible working arrangements, managing a service that operates 7 days a week. The role involves a blend of office, on-site, and home working, depending on the needs of the service.

About the role

You will be responsible for the operational delivery of the HertsLynx Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) services across Hertfordshire, including management of the operational team as well as leading and driving improvements in operational delivery through understanding key inputs and processes.

You’ll be taking lead on day-to-day operational decisions and delivering a customer-focused service through active management of the internal operation. You will face logistical challenges which will require fast-paced problem solving.

You will be responsible for ensuring all work undertaken meets the legislative requirements under which the DRT scheme operates.

About you

We are looking for a proactive and adaptable DRT Operations Lead with strong operational management experience in passenger transport, who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment and is committed to delivering high-quality Demand Responsive Transport services

Essential

  • Demonstratable experience and skills in contract management and transport service delivery
  • A strong understanding of compliance and service quality will be essential to maintaining safe and effective service delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing demands effectively
  • Ability to operate in a busy environment, under pressure, with varied hours of operation

Desirable

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in relevant professional area (CPC Passenger Transport qualification desirable)
  • Confident in using transport scheduling systems, HR platforms, and other work-related software such as performance tracking, staff rostering, and reporting tools
