Borough Road Nursery School and George Dent Nursery School are the two stand-alone local authority-maintained nursery schools in Darlington. Both nurseries have a long history of providing high-quality Early Years education that responds to the needs, interests and uniqueness of every child.
The Governing Body is seeking an experienced and inspirational Deputy Executive Head Teacher with a deep-rooted commitment to early childhood education. This post is to work across both nursery schools and has a two-day-per-week teaching commitment.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader or an aspiring Deputy Head with a strong background in a comparable senior leadership position. The successful candidate will ideally bring significant responsibility for Early Years, a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality, play-based learning across the school. They will work collaboratively with the SENDCo to support effective, inclusive provision, and must be deeply committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children while ensuring all staff share this dedication.
