
Deputy Manager
- Promoting and implementing effective strategies for anti-oppressive practices is vital.
- In collaboration with the Home Manager, you will monitor and review development plans for both the staff and the home, ensuring that adequate supervision is provided.
- Experience in leading teams as you will be supervising staff. Experience in offering training, advice, and opportunities for staff development is required.
- Ability to support young people in preparing for adulthood by providing enablement programs. It is important to create an environment that encourages visits from parents, family members, and friends.
- Supporting specific outcomes—such as health, education, and preparation for independence—is a key responsibility.
- Ability to oversee performance management within your areas of responsibility. This includes monitoring staff sickness and absence, as well as managing capability and disciplinary procedures, all while ensuring the safety of staff and service users through appropriate risk assessments.
- Effective communication is essential; you should accurately report and record information using IT and online recording systems, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Promoting a healthy and safe working environment, collaborating with others, and respecting personal beliefs are also important aspects of this role.
- You will be expected to encourage non-abusive and non-aggressive behaviour, continuously evaluate and improve your practice, and successfully implement changes and improvements in care practices within the staff team.
- To ensure effective service delivery, you may need to undertake additional duties relevant to your position's grade and the needs of the service, even working in other areas of the division as necessary.
- You will receive regular supervision as defined by the BCT framework from a senior staff member identified by the Home Manager. This supervision will allow you to work within established guidelines that will be subject to review.
- Planning your work to meet defined objectives is critical, and during your induction, you will be informed about the level of supervision you will receive.
