Destination Marketing Executive

Discover Sefton – And Help the World Discover It Too

Sefton is a hidden gem on the Northwest coast – home to golden beaches, dramatic dunes, world-class art (Anthony Gormley’s "Another Place), vibrant towns like Southport and Crosby, and the serene beauty of Formby’s pinewoods. As we grow our visitor economy, we need a visionary Destination Marketing Executive to showcase Sefton’s stories and help drive ticket sales for major events such as The Southport Air Show while working with colleagues across our tourism venues such as Southport Market and Salt and Tar.

Join us if you’re a digital storyteller, data-savvy strategist, and passionate place-promoter ready to put Sefton on the map!

You’ll work on the development and delivery of innovative marketing campaigns that boost Sefton’s profile as a must-visit destination. Working closely with tourism partners, businesses, and the Major Events team, you’ll inspire visitors to explore our coastline, culture, and attend our events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Campaigns – Help create and execute data-driven destination marketing plans targeting key audiences (leisure, events, business tourism).
  • Digital Leadership - Manage Sefton’s destination website/social media channels (SEO, content, paid ads), growing engagement and conversion.
  • Partnership Building - Collaborate with hotels, attractions, media, and industry bodies on joint campaigns.
  • Content Creation - Oversee compelling content (video, blogs, photography) that captures Sefton’s unique experiences.
  • Performance Tracking - Monitor KPIs (web traffic, social engagement, visitor spend) and report on ROI.
  • Market Insight- Research trends, visitor behaviour, and competitor activity to inform strategy.

Interviews to be held: week commencing 15th September 2025

Salary range

  • £32,597 - £36,363 per year
