We are recruiting a Development Officer at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (7.24 Monday – Friday)
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st March 2026
Location: Ty Bargoed / Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.

Team: Green Spaces and Transport Services


This position offers an excellent opportunity to become part of our team and provide support across the organization.

We pay an attractive salary of £34,314- £37,035 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The successful candidate will work to deliver support, advice and funding to rural communities and businesses and support nature recovery across Caerphilly County Borough.

The postholder will work closely with farmers, landowners, land managers, local producers, third sector groups and local businesses to help develop and support the delivery of new projects, systems, and ways of working that address social and economic opportunities.

The project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Welsh Government through the Local Places for Nature Funding, administered by the WCVA.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Level 5 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example HND.
  • Knowledge of mechanisms for effective public consultation and participation.
  • Experience of managing projects and project management.
  • A Full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business purposes to travel between the office and locations within the project area.
