
Digital and Technology Senior Project Manager
Job summary
The role:
As a Digital and Technology Senior Project Manager you will have oversight of the planning, governance and reporting for projects within the Digital, IT and Facilities programme, leading on delivery and providing expert guidance, support and insights on projects.
You will be leading on delivering business, service, product and technology changes, working with a range of stakeholders across the Gambling Commission (GC), end users and external suppliers. You will plan and deliver the end-to-end project lifecycle across multiple projects, driving forward delivery and maintain best practice.

Your responsibilities:
- Be accountable for the planning, governance and reporting for projects within the programme.
- Work closely with project teams and subject matter experts to deliver complex, technical projects within agreed timescales, to cost and required standards.
- Be accountable for all standard project documentation including project briefs, milestone plans, risks and output / benefits plan.
- Setup and manage project teams from across the GC to develop and refine plans and manage delivery. This will include developing new plans and coordinating the aggregation of multiple deliverable plans.
- Coordinate effective governance at the project and programme level, in line with requirements.
- Setup project and programme level reporting to ensure that senior colleagues have sight of progress, risk and a forward look for all projects within the programme.
- Lead project teams through structured planning and provide support to the Project Leads to setup effective delivery processes and controls.
- Make recommendations on resource requirements to senior colleagues.
- Support the wider team with learning and development to embed good project delivery and practice.
- Actively manage risks, issues, and dependencies for your team and projects, acting on data and adapting ways of working to mitigate risks.
- Accountable for establishing and maintaining good relationships across the GC, with end users and external suppliers, through influencing and trust to support the delivery of projects.
- Effectively get buy-in from stakeholders at all levels, translating complex information into a format stakeholders will effectively engage with and understand.
- Manage a team of project delivery professionals, ensuring they are supported and understand the overall vision and outcomes they need to achieve.

What we’re looking for:
Essential criteria:
- Experience of managing projects within a dynamic and fast paced programme environment. Direct experience of working within digital and technology projects.
- Knowledge of project and programme management methodologies (APM, MSP etc)
- Experience of stakeholder management and engagement at all levels (internal and external).
- Experience of working with and managing supplier relationships.
- A solution orientated mindset with the ability to work at an accurate pace and cope with ambiguity.
Desirable criteria:
- Project Management qualification (I.e. Prince2, APM).
- Previous experience working in a Regulatory or Governmental organisation.
