The role

Are you passionate about driving digital change and creating learning opportunities that make a real difference? Southwark Council is seeking a Digital Learning Partner to deliver innovative training programmes and support our journey towards a more digitally confident workforce.

The role will see you designing and delivering a blend of digital learning initiatives that bring our Microsoft 365 roadmap to life, support key transformation projects such as the laptop refresh programme, and build staff confidence in new technologies. Working across the organisation, you’ll collaborate with colleagues, councillors, and senior leaders to deliver training that is engaging, accessible, and inclusive.

This is a role at the heart of our Technology & Digital Services team, where you’ll explore emerging technologies, develop creative e-learning content, and help embed a culture of digital inclusion across the council. By shaping and coordinating effective learning experiences, you’ll ensure our workforce is supported and equipped to thrive in an evolving digital landscape.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and coordinate digital learning programmes that build skills and confidence across the council.
  • Lead and support training sessions, workshops, and online learning aligned with our Microsoft 365 roadmap and wider digital projects.
  • Develop creative e-learning content and resources using our learning platforms, ensuring they are accessible and inclusive.
  • Explore and introduce emerging technologies that enhance the learning experience and support innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, councillors, and external partners to deliver impactful training initiatives.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on digital learning activities, ensuring best practice and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Knowledge of modern learning techniques and blended digital learning approaches
  • Experience delivering digital training programmes in a large, complex organisation
  • Strong project planning skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Proven ability to design and develop engaging e-learning content and training materials
  • Confidence in delivering both face-to-face and virtual training sessions
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and other digital platforms to support learning delivery
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all areas of work

Additional details

This role is being offered as a fixed term contract for 2 years. We encourage any internal staff to gain agreement from their substantive line manager if considering this is as a secondment opportunity.

Full time, 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

This is a hybrid role, with time split between working from our offices and from home. You will be required travel to other sites across the borough to deliver training.
