We have an exciting Care Leaver Apprenticeship Programme where you’ll work as a Corporate Parenting Participation Apprentice – helping children and young people across the Trust have their voices heard.

In this role, you’ll:
  • Work closely with the Children in Care and Care Leaver Teams
  • Support the Corporate Parenting agenda by the promotion of offers, projects and experiences we have, to teams and young people.
  • Promoting the Corporate Parenting principles across the Trust and Birmingham City Council so that staff continued to understand their responsibility.
  • Design and create a range of promotional materials, such as posters, leaflets, and cards, to support the promotion of the service.
  • Make sure young people’s views are represented and taken seriously across the Trust.
  • Provide advice, information, and advocacy based on respect, empowerment, and equality.
  • Work with children in care, care leavers, and those on child protection plans.

You’ll also help shape how services are delivered by supporting co-production and consultation – making sure young people are involved in decisions that affect them. Part of your role will include:
  • Quality assurance visits to supported accommodation.
  • Helping develop a Young Person’s Inspector role.
  • Creating opportunities for participation and involvement.

Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded Level 3 Multi-Channel Marketer Apprenticeship and, if needed, gain Level 2 English and Maths qualifications. We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.

This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
