Job description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Stewardship Manager. The Stewardship Manager will support the Senior Stewardship Manager who holds responsibility on a United States Air Forces operated MOD base to ensure that the estate is safe and legal. The roles covers the whole estate, including DIO contractor maintained and operated facilities as well as United States Air Force (USAF) maintained and operated facilities. The job entails a high degree of interaction and briefing to senior UK and US officials.Person specification
Leadership and Management
• Demonstrate and provide leadership to the team and manage individuals to contribute to DIO outputs. Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements, Health and Safety, and risk assessments.
Stewardship Policy Management, Compliance and Assurance Management
• Ensure compliance with MoD and DIO policy, instructions and guidance. Monitor and take actions to improve compliance, operational efficiency and raise issues with USVF to the relevant industry providers and up the DIO governance chain.
• Responsible for the Area’s Services and Facilities Group Specifications (SFG20) Assurance Document.
• Support the management of the stewardship assurance process relating to the inspection, assessment and maintenance tasks identified in the joint UK/US Service Level Agreement SFG20 which describes such UK and US statutory requirements and responsibilities.
• Support and manage the assurance inspections programme for building and facility assets and SFG20 statutory and mandatory tasks to secure a safe and legal estate. Liaising with USVF, Industry providers and DIO to manage non compliances to resolution.
• Undertake Deep Dive Assurances when concerns are identified.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Responsible for developing and maintaining engagement with major functional/customer partners in support of DIO Stewardship delivery keeping partners informed of mutual objectives.
• Attend, actively participate and represent DIO at meetings as required
• Liaison with internal and external partners, providing advice and guidance on UK Statutory and mandatory compliance across the estate
USVF Direct Contracting/Labour
• Management of the USVF Requests for Host Nation Review
• Assurance of the programme to ensure statutory and mandatory requirements are being met and the estate is fully compliant.
• Management and appropriate escalation breaches.
Planning, Demolition & Siting Boards
• Responsible for co-ordination of Siting Boards, Planning and Demolition applications, liaison with Local Authority and relevant partners to secure Host Nation funds to undertake requirements.
Competent Person Inspections
• Responsibility to record Competent Person Inspections (CPI’s),
Technical Inspections and Professional Appraisals ensuring reports and associated certificates are uploaded and reflected accurately.
• Liaise closely with the relevant partners to ensure non-compliance and remedials identified are actioned and recorded on the designated management tool.
This role will involve regular attendance at other sites and a requirement to be flexible in assisting at other sites. Therefore a Full UK Driving Licence is compulsory.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and working from home as part of a non-contractual hybrid working arrangement. All office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to site capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD workplace, will also count towards this level of office attendance.
