About the Borough

Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) was set up in 2006 to manage the housing stock on behalf of Sutton Council.

We provide day-to-day housing management services to Sutton Council's tenants and leaseholders

About the Service and Team

The Assistant Director of Assets and the Head of Building Safety and Compliance reports to the Director of Asset Investment and Sustainability. Together they lead distinct teams, Asset delivery: Asset Lead, Pre Construction Lead, Project Managers, Work Surveyors, Clerk of Works and Resident Liaison Officers. Compliance: Manager, Engineers and Compliance officers.

About the Role and Our Ideal Candidate

As the Director of Asset Investment and Sustainability you will be competent at a senior level to work with the Executive Management Team and the Board on all strategic and operational aspects of assets and sustainability, including best practice and the development of new initiatives. It is imperative that you have a rigorous and up to date knowledge of all legal and building safety requirements for property assets; fire safety and building compliance regulations with practical experience of applying this successfully. A good understanding of new and emerging technologies on sustainability to enable you to develop and implement the SHDP strategy for new build homes and remodel the existing stock. Your experience of partnership working; and being an expert in planning approaches for a diverse property portfolio is important for this role.

SHP has a unique and strong partnership with the London Borough of Sutton to ensure compliance of the big 6 and to work collaboratively for our residents.

Educated to degree level, you must have a CIH Level 4 qualification in Managing Housing Maintenance or CIH Level 5. Those willing to work or who are working towards the qualification are encouraged to apply.
