Job Description
Disability Sport Development Officer (West) (16/343) (Fixed Term)
Office to be determined once appointed (Wigtownshire or Stewartry)
Band 8, £18,387 - £19,681.50
MAKE A DIFFERENCE THROUGH SPORT!
An opportunity to change lives, build confidence and create sporting opportunities for everyone.
You will be required to work 18 hours per week, 52.14 weeks per year.
Are you passionate about sport, inclusion and helping people achieve their potential?
Are you ready to make a real difference in Dumfries and Galloway? This is an exciting opportunity to take on a rewarding role supporting people with disabilities to discover, enjoy and thrive through sport and physical activity. As a Disability Sport Development Officer, you will have the opportunity to help create inclusive sporting opportunities, develop pathways for athletes and work alongside dedicated coaches, volunteers and partners to make sport accessible to more people across Dumfries and Galloway.
This is about so much more than delivering sporting sessions. It’s about opening doors, breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for people to achieve things they may never have thought possible. From supporting someone to attend their very first sporting session to helping athletes progress into competitive sport and achieve success on the national stage, you will play an important part in their journey.
The impact of disability sport development reaches far beyond the playing field.
It can create friendships, build confidence, develop leadership and volunteering opportunities, and help people feel connected to their communities. You will be part of a network that empowers individuals to challenge expectations, discover their abilities and achieve personal goals, whether that means trying a sport for the first time, joining a local club or standing on a podium as a medal winner.
If you are enthusiastic about sport, passionate about inclusion and motivated to make a positive difference to people’s lives, this could be the opportunity for you. Bring your energy, creativity and commitment to helping create a future where everyone has the opportunity to participate, progress and achieve through sport.
