Winchester City Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) Case Officer to join our Private Sector Housing Team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of residents by helping deliver essential home adaptations that support independent living.
As a DFG Case Officer, you will be responsible for managing completed applications for Disabled Facilities Grants, ensuring that eligible residents receive timely and appropriate support to adapt their homes. You’ll work closely with Occupational Therapists, contractors, and other stakeholders to assess needs, coordinate works, and monitor progress.
You will need to be empathetic, an excellent communicator and confident in making difficult decisions to achieve positive outcomes for our customers. If you are interested in applying for this role, we would like you to have:
- Experience in housing, social care, or the delivery of disabled facilities grants.
- Knowledge of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 and related legislation.
- Skilled in communication and able to work empathetically with vulnerable individuals.
- Organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple cases effectively.
- Proficient in using IT systems and maintaining accurate records.

Salary range
