Welfare Assistant

Dorin Park School, Upton, Chester

Grade 3, SCP 2 - 4, (Hourly Rate £12.60-£12.65, pending review)

5 days per week, up to 30 hours per week (9.10am–3.40pm) 3 days will be considered

1-year Fixed Term Contract commencing 1st September 2025, Term time only

We are a successful and caring Special School looking for the right person to provide welfare assistance to our lovely students, ages 4 to 19.

This will include help with toileting for a range of needs and working with students who are developing continence as they progress in their personal independence skills. We value experience but full training will be given to applicants with the right attitude and can-do approach who want to move into this line of work with a fantastic group of students who are incredibly rewarding to work with. This is a very active role and it involves moving around the whole school, a fast-paced environment with a need to respond quickly, as well as being a physical role which requires safe lifting and moving of students.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Prepare and administer minor medications.
  • Assist students with daily, personal tasks.
  • Be aware of students physical, social, emotional and medical care needs.
