
Duty Operations Assistant
You’ll be central to the smooth and successful running of our community centres, making sure they’re lively, inclusive spaces that offer a wide range of services and activities valued by local people.
This is a mobile role where you’ll work across multiple sites. You’ll combine on-site visits with essential administrative support. You’ll oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring each space is clean, safe, and compliant, while providing a friendly, professional presence for residents and visitors.
What you’ll do
- Provide administrative support including managing bookings, updating databases, ordering consumables, liaising with suppliers, collating feedback, coordinating diaries, attending meetings, and maintaining accurate records
- Deliver a welcoming reception service and respond promptly to calls and emails
- Carry out routine checks, fire alarm and emergency lighting tests, and health & safety inspections; report issues as required
- Maintain customer records and data systems in line with data protection regulation
- Carry out tasks in accordance with the cleaning schedule, ensuring that both day-to-day duties and periodic cleaning are timely and completed to an appropriate standard
- Process invoices and update finance systems in line with procurement policy.
- Build positive relationships with colleagues and volunteers
- Attend required training and undertake health & safety roles such as Fire Warden or First Aider
- Where appropriate to the location, support bar and kitchen duties including set up, clean up, serving customers, and processing payments
What you’ll need
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role, or in an administrative position
- A full, clean driving license and access to a car
- Strong attention to detail, and able to work within policy and procedural guidelines
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively prioritise work
- Great interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and data protection
- Proficient level of IT literacy in Microsoft Office and confident to work with different data management systems and across digital platforms
- A strong commitment to the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion

Salary range
- £31,745 per year
