The Role
Bolton Council is seeking an experienced, motivated and dynamic professional to join our Children's Services team as an Early Intervention Service Assistant Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in promoting positive outcomes for children and young people through the effective management and delivery of attendance and inclusion services. Working closely with the Service Manager, you will help lead the Early Intervention Service, championing strategies that improve school attendance, reduce barriers to education and safeguard vulnerable children.
You will support the strategic and operational leadership of the Early Intervention Service, deputising for the Service Manager where required and providing direct management and supervision to staff, including the Designated Children Missing Education Officer.
You will work collaboratively with schools, Headteachers, multi-agency partners and Council services to ensure appropriate interventions are in place to improve attendance and educational outcomes. You will also play a key role in ensuring the Council fulfils its statutory duties relating to Children Missing Education (CME), school attendance and pupil registration regulations.
About You
You will be a confident leader with a strong understanding of attendance legislation and a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
With a detailed understanding of relevant legislation relating to school attendance and education, you will be able to analyse and evaluate data to report findings clearly and concisely, to ensure that resources are allocated appropriately.
You will use your excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with senior officers and multi-agency partners.
Working collaboratively with a range of people and agencies, you will support sustained improvement to the Early Intervention Service.
