As an Economic Inclusion Lead, covering the North Counties region, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering Peabody’s economic inclusion strategy across localities. You’ll lead on initiatives that improve access to employment, skills, training, and wider economic opportunities for residents, while building strong partnerships across public, private, and voluntary sectors.

Working both strategically and operationally, you’ll act as a key ambassador for Peabody’s economic inclusion work, driving collaboration, innovation, and measurable impact across the organisation and beyond.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and deliver economic inclusion initiatives within your locality, improving accessibility, quality, and take-up of services.
  • Develop and implement programmes that enhance employability, skills, and economic outcomes for residents and communities.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with local, regional, and national organisations, including employers, training providers, local authorities, and community groups.
  • Act as a key representative and ambassador for Peabody, promoting economic inclusion initiatives and influencing stakeholders across sectors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (including Development, Regeneration, Procurement, and Commercial) to maximise social value opportunities and economic outcomes.
  • Procure, manage, and evaluate external delivery partners, ensuring high-quality services and measurable outcomes.
  • Produce performance reports, impact assessments, case studies, and briefings for senior leadership and partners.
  • Lead on marketing, communications, and events to raise the profile of economic inclusion activity and share best practice.
  • Support and contribute to working groups, partnership forums, and local networks to drive coordinated delivery.
  • Identify and support funding opportunities and bids to enhance resources and programme delivery.
  • Continuously improve data collection, reporting, and insight to strengthen programme effectiveness and decision-making.

What you’ll need

You’re an enthusiastic and driven professional with a strong commitment to improving economic outcomes for communities. You’re confident working across partnerships, able to influence stakeholders and passionate about delivering impactful programmes that make a real difference.

You’re also a strong communicator and problem-solver, with the ability to think creatively and challenge traditional approaches to drive better outcomes.

You will also have:

  • Experience in economic development, employment and skills, or delivering economic inclusion programmes, with knowledge of placed based partners, local authorities and employers across North Counties delivering economic support.
  • Experience of working with disadvantaged and culturally diverse communities.
  • Ability to monitor performance, manage budgets, and report on key outcomes and impact.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including producing reports, case studies, and presentations.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of funding opportunities and experience supporting funding bids (desirable).
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital/social communication platforms.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and resilient approach with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.

Please note, this role is a 2-year Fixed Term Contract Opportunity and covers the North Counties region, with the primary office base at Houghton Hall. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to other locations as required for meetings and business needs.
