    West Northamptonshire Council is looking for a dedicated and proactive Planning Enforcement Officer to help drive forward its place-shaping agenda.

    What will you be doing?

    In this role, you will support the Principal Enforcement Officer in providing timely and appropriate advice on all matters related to planning enforcement. You will assist in the monitoring of large developments and investigate all aspects of breaches of planning control, ensuring compliance with all current investigation and planning legislation.

    You will contribute to the development of a flexible and resilient team, working collaboratively to meet service objectives and improve outcomes for the Council and the wider community. Maintaining strong relationships with Councillors, local bodies, and community groups, including Parish and Town Councils, will be a key part of your role, ensuring effective communication and a customer-focused approach to planning matters.

    About you

    Previous experience in a planning enforcement or investigation team is desirable.

    Depth and range of practical experience that demonstrates the ability to deal with monitoring planning approvals, S106 obligations and community infrastructure levy payments.

    Experience in planning enforcement, accountancy and/or legal capacity.

    You will need to be methodical, have an attention to detail and be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
