Job Title: Engineer - Externally Funded Projects
Salary: £40,317 - £45,933 per annum
Grade: E
Contract Type: Fixed Term 5-year Contract
Full-Time 37 Hours per Week
About the Role
We are seeking an Engineer - Externally Funded Projects to join our Highways and Transport Delivery team.
This role supports the design, technical checking and delivery of highway and transport improvement schemes.
You will provide engineering expertise, ensure compliance with relevant standards and assist in the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
What We Are Looking For
As an Engineer you will have the following:
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and highway design software.
- Ability to prepare, review and check highway engineering designs, drawings and technical reports.
- Knowledge of highway design standards, specifications and industry best practice.
- Experience in the design, delivery or supervision of highway and transport improvement schemes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience working collaboratively with consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
- Commitment to agile working and council values.
- Understanding of equality and diversity principles.
- Desirable: Full driving licence; knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, TSRGD and traffic management techniques.
Essential Qualifications:
Educated to HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Highway Engineering, Transportation or a related discipline.
DBS Check: Not Required for this post
