Job Advert – Enrichment Club Play Worker

Cuddington Primary School governors are looking to recruit an Enrichment Club Play Worker as soon as possible. Our Enrichment Club provides before and after school care for our children.

Employer: Cuddington Primary School

Salary: Actual Salary £5293, rate of pay will be £13.05 per hour, Grade 4 SCP 4

Location: Cuddington Primary School, Ash Road, Cuddington, Northwich

Contract: Permanent

Working Pattern: Part Time/Term Time

Hours: 9.25 hours per week. Monday 15:15 - 17:30, Tuesday 15:15 - 17:30, Wednesday 15:15 – 17:45, Thursday 15:15 - 17:30.

DBS Check: Enhanced

Closing Date: Wednesday 08/10/2025 at 12:00

CLUB PLAYWORKER VACANCY – After School

Ideally candidates will have experience of playing sports and games with primary aged children or be prepared to learn new games to play with children. They will understand the importance of positive relationships with children and will be confident to communicate with parents when they are dropping off or collecting their child.

Your responsibilities will include: -

  • Helping prepare and deliver quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment as per the timetable
  • Providing comprehensive care for the children
  • Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment
  • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met
  • Meet and greet the children on arrival
  • Administering first aid, when necessary
  • Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities
  • Facilitating good communication with all team members, parents, children and school
  • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training
  • Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure
  • Working within the framework of the school’s policies and procedures

Essential skills required for the role:

  • Understanding the varied needs of children and their families
  • Provide and facilitate safe play
  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Sound judgement and common sense

The school is committed to safeguarding children and the successful candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
