Work Location: Various locations detailed below

Salary: £24,423 - £24,582 per annum (pro-rata for part time)

Working Hours: up to 20 hours per week for school term time only or 52 weeks per annum (2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon each day – dependant on the run so can be slightly longer).

Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are currently looking to recruit a number of bus escorts for our Passenger Fleet Team.

Escorts are primarily responsible for transporting vulnerable adults and children with special educational needs including physical and /or learning difficulties to their School, Day Centres and other activities.

Escorts will ensure (along with the driver) their passengers' personal wellbeing and safe/secure travel at all times, in accordance with the job description, relevant Policies, legislation, Procedures and good practice.

ESCORT

Mountsorrel – 1 x Monday only (split shift 4 hours per day – 4 hours per week)- School Term Time Only

Sapcote – 2 x Thur and Friday (split shift 4 hours per day – 8 hours per week) - Term time only

Croft – 1 x Thur and Friday (split shift 4 hours per day – 8 hours per week) - Term time only

Nailstone - 2 x Mon to Fri (split shift 4 hours per day – 20 hours per week) - School Term Time Only

A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.

This role is a “Safety Critical Post” and, consequently, subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with our policies and procedures. A copy of our Substance Misuse Policy and Procedure is available upon request.

About You

The post holder must have experience or knowledge in::

  • Working face-to-face with the general public within a service provision environment providing customer care and quality services
  • Keeping written records / documentation in a neat and tidy manner and sufficiently numerate to complete worksheets
  • Able to communicate effectively with people with varying capabilities, including those with challenging behaviours and vulnerable groups.
  • Ability, with training, to undertake a series of moving and handling operations associated with the transport of people and static loads
  • Must be willing, after training, to administer first aid, medication and rescue medication as and when required
