    £55,051 to £58,445 inclusive of outer fringe allowance per annum
    37 hours per week (hybrid)

    Reporting to the Assistant Director (Regeneration and Economic Development) and forming an integral part of the Council’s Regeneration and Economic Development Team, your role will be to manage the Council’s Estates Team.

    The Council’s commercial property portfolio comprises a range of neighbourhood and town centre retail units, industrial estates, offices and community assets and generates an income of £5.5 Million per annum. In addition to managing this portfolio, with a view to maximising occupancy and revenue income, the Estates Team are also responsible for negotiating covenant releases, disposals, acquisitions, freehold reversions and leasehold extensions and for providing landlord and tenant advice to various internal departments.

    You will need to have a strong Landlord and Tenant background and significant commercial valuation experience as well as knowledge on all relevant areas of legislation, in particular the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.

    You will manage a team of surveyors and support officers as well as external contractors and you will also deputise for the Assistant Director (Regeneration and Economic Development) as necessary.

    The role would suit a dynamic, results orientated individual used to working in a target driven environment. You will have excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal, problem solving and IT skills and will have a flexible approach to work.

    Experience of commercial lease renewals and rent reviews is essential while experience of working in both public and private sectors is desirable.

    The ability to converse at ease with members of the public, professionals and elected members as well as the ability to provide advice in accurate written and spoken English is essential.
