    The role:

    • The role of Event Manager will provide operational leadership and hands on delivery of a programme of culture and sports events designed to promote tourism, strengthen Liverpool’s visitor economy on delivery of a programme of culture and sports events designed to promote tourism, strengthen Liverpool’s visitor economy and support the city’s strategic growth
    • Delivery of the Event Manager role will involve planning, coordinating and safely delivering allocated events, including preparing project plans, managing multiagency relationships, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and overseeing all event agency relationships, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, and overseeing all event day operations
    • In the role of Event Manager, you will manage volunteers, event support staff, concessions, contractors and suppliers, ensuring high standards of public safety, customer experience and operational efficiency across all events
    • The role of Event Manager will require you to tactically manage security arrangements, traffic management systems, emergency procedures and contingency activation, working closely with internal departments and external partners
    • Your demonstrable knowledge as an Event Managerwill include delivering indoor and outdoor events, managing budgets, overseeing procurement processes, analysing post event performance, and ensuring events meet regulatory and licensing requirements
    • The role of Event Manager will also involve supporting major citywide events as part of the Culture Liverpool team, contributing to long term planning, contract management, volunteer development, and continuous improvement

    This post is fixed term for the purpose of delivering the 2026 – 2028 culture and sports event programme and will end October 2028.
