    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive, high-level support to the Director of Placemaking. This is a pivotal role at the heart of a busy, creative and strategic directorate, supporting work that includes regeneration, planning and culture.

    As PA, you will manage a varied workload, acting as a trusted gatekeeper and key point of contact for the Director. You will ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities, enable effective decision-making, and help coordinate priorities across internal teams and external partners. The role requires discretion, initiative and the ability to operate confidently in a fast-paced, politically and publicly visible environment.

    Key responsibilities include:

    • Proactive diary and inbox management, including prioritising competing demands
    • Preparing briefings, agendas, reports and presentations
    • Coordinating meetings, workshops and site visits, including logistics and follow-up actions
    • Acting as a key liaison with senior stakeholders, partners and elected members (where relevant)
    • Supporting governance processes, record keeping and confidential matters
    • Anticipating issues and resolving problems before they arise
    • Providing wider administrative support to the Placemaking leadership team as required

    About You

    You will be an experienced individual, comfortable supporting a senior leader and working with complex information and multiple stakeholders. You are calm under pressure, highly organised, and take pride in delivering high-quality support.

    You will bring:

    • Proven experience supporting a senior director or executive-level role
    • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail
    • The ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Confidence working independently and using your initiative
    • A flexible, solutions-focused approach to work
    • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools
