Help shape the future of SEND and Inclusion in Wolverhampton
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the SEND and Inclusion Service for an experienced and motivated colleague to become our new Experts at Hand Partnership Delivery Co-ordinator.
This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in one of Wolverhampton's most innovative programmes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The Experts at Hand programme is a key part of our local SEND and Inclusion reform programme and is helping partners work together more effectively to improve inclusion, strengthen early intervention and build confidence across the wider system.
The role offers the chance to work with leaders and practitioners across education, health, social care, family support services and the voluntary sector. You will help bring people together around a shared vision and support the delivery of practical solutions that improve outcomes for children, young people and their families.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of SEND and Inclusion, you will coordinate and support the delivery of the Experts at Hand programme across Wolverhampton. You will provide leadership across a complex partnership, helping to ensure that agreed priorities are translated into meaningful action and sustainable improvement.
The role sits at the intersection of strategy and delivery. You will work closely with colleagues and partners to coordinate activity, monitor progress, identify barriers and support the successful delivery of programme objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the Experts at Hand programme.
- Maintaining programme plans, milestones and delivery schedules.
- Supporting governance, reporting and assurance arrangements.
- Building strong multi-agency relationships across education, health, care and community organisations.
- Tracking actions, risks, issues and dependencies.
- Supporting co-production with children, young people and families.
- Using performance information and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Facilitating collaboration and the sharing of effective practice across the local area.
- Supporting workforce development and inclusive practice across settings and services.
No two days will be the same. One day you may be coordinating a multi-agency problem-solving discussion, and the next you may be presenting performance information to senior leaders or supporting the development of a new workstream. This variety makes the role both rewarding and professionally enriching.
About you
We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic and relationship-focused professional who enjoys working with others to achieve shared goals.
You may currently be working within SEND, inclusion, education, health, children's services, commissioning, early help, family support, programme management or service improvement.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience of leading or coordinating projects, programmes or service improvement activity.
- Strong partnership-working and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- The ability to build credibility and positive working relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Experience of analysing information and using evidence to inform decisions.
- Experience of preparing reports, presentations or performance updates.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
- A commitment to inclusion, collaboration and continuous improvement.
You will also have a genuine passion for improving outcomes for children and young people and be motivated by the opportunity to influence change across the wider system.
Why apply?
This role offers an excellent development opportunity for colleagues looking to broaden their experience and increase their strategic influence across the organisation and local partnership.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
- Work alongside senior leaders from across education, health and care.
- Gain valuable experience of programme and partnership leadership.
- Develop skills in transformation, governance and service improvement.
- Influence city-wide developments that improve outcomes for children and young people.
- Contribute directly to Wolverhampton's SEND and Inclusion reform ambitions.
- Build a broad network of professional relationships across multiple sectors.
You will join a supportive and ambitious service that is committed to innovation, collaboration and continuous learning. The role provides significant opportunity for professional growth while contributing to work that makes a tangible difference to children, young people and families across the city.
This post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
