Job summary

As Communications and Engagement Officer, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to use your proven communications skills, curiosity and creativity within a professional and purpose-driven environment – helping to ensure the work of the Ombudsman is clearly understood, effectively communicated and positively experienced.

Reporting to the External Communications Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality communications and engagement to a range of external audiences. Using clear storytelling, digital tools and visual communication, you'll help the Ombudsman connect with its audiences in meaningful and effective ways. This will include political stakeholders, as well as residents and landlords

Job description

Specifically, your remit will include:

· contributing to the delivery of the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy, bringing fresh thinking to how messages are developed and shared;

· creating high-quality, accessible content across a range of formats – including video, graphics and digital media – ensuring communications are clear, engaging and on-brand;

· developing and delivering communications plans for projects, campaigns and channels, using insight and feedback to continuously improve approach and impact; and

· supporting the delivery of external stakeholder engagement and policy programmes including drafting content, maintaining stakeholder databases, sharing approved communications and organising events.
