    About Us

Newham is one of London’s most dynamic and diverse boroughs — and we’re proud of it. With over 220 languages spoken and home to some of the capital’s most iconic landmarks (think Olympic Park, Westfield Stratford City, and Green Street), Newham is a place full of energy, culture, and opportunity.

We’re undergoing rapid transformation with new homes, jobs, and investment reshaping the borough — and now, we're looking for someone like you to be part of that journey.

We’re looking for a professional, friendly, and resilient Facilities Officer to join our dynamic Building Services Team at Newham Dockside. This is an exciting, fast-paced role where no two days are the same — perfect for someone who enjoys helping others and keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

    About the Role:

As the first point of contact for anyone entering the building, your welcoming presence will set the tone for visitors, colleagues, contractors, and residents alike. You’ll ensure the building is safe, well-maintained, and operating efficiently, while providing excellent customer service.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Greet and assist all visitors in a professional and approachable manner
    • Carry out building inspections and fire warden duties
    • Provide general administrative support
    • Use and learn bespoke IT systems, including the ID card system
    • Respond to queries and resolve issues at the first point of contact
    • Support internal colleagues and building tenants
    • Maintain security and safety within the building
    • Learn how to manage the car park and the administrative processes behind this

    About You:

    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
    • Resilient, proactive, and adaptable
    • Confident using IT and willing to learn new systems
    • A strong team player with a warm and friendly attitude
    • Ability to handle both routine and sensitive issues professionally
    • Experience in facilities, administration, or customer service is beneficial
    • Flexibility to work across the team, undertaking different duties as required

If you thrive in a busy, people-focused environment and love making a difference day to day, we’d love to hear from you!
