About the role

3 Posts - Kettering, Wellingborough and East Northants

Are you a skilled practitioner with a passion for early help and family support? Ready to step role and help shape a service that truly makes a difference?

We’re looking for a Family Hub Practitioner to join our growing team and help drive the delivery of North Northamptonshire’s brand-new Family Hubs and Start for Life programme.

This is more than a front-line role, it’s a chance to lead by example, guide others, and help build a community-led, inclusive offer for families, children and young people. You’ll be part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team delivering high-quality universal and targeted support for families from pregnancy through to age 19 (or 25 with SEND).

What will you be doing?

  • Delivering 1:1 and group-based support for children and families, working flexibly across Family Hubs and community settings.
  • Coordinating and delivering a wide range of activities and parenting programmes (both universal and targeted), that promote school readiness, positive relationships, and wellbeing.
  • Acting as a local champion for Early Help, supporting multi-agency working and contributing to assessments and plans.
  • Ensuring that the voice and lived experience of children and families are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Supporting our transformation programme by identifying what’s working, listening to service users, and helping shape what comes next.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about improving outcomes for children, young people and families.

• Experienced in delivering early intervention work in a community or family setting.

• Skilled in building positive, trusting relationships with children, parents and professionals.

• Confident in supporting and developing others, both staff and volunteers.

• A flexible team player, ready to work creatively and responsively, including occasional evenings and weekends.

• Knowledgeable about safeguarding, child development, and the early help landscape.

Key skills and abilities

• A Level 3 or above qualification in a relevant field (e.g. childcare, social care, education, youth work).

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead by example.

  • • Experience of group facilitation, parenting work, and delivering structured programmes.
  • • A full driving licence or the ability to travel across North Northamptonshire.

This is your chance to help shape the future of family support in North Northamptonshire — empowering parents, children and communities to thrive.

Join us, and be part of something genuinely meaningful.
