About the Role
As the lead pastoral point of contact for parents/carers, you will initiate, facilitate and enhance the partnership between home and school, through direct and indirect support, individual liaison, parental conferencing, including where appropriate the involvement of outside agencies such as CAMHs, Social Services, the LA, and other professional bodies. You will manage and lead on the collective responses to all forms of communication, gathering information when required from colleagues, to quickly resolve issues, restore trust and relationships and prevent escalation. A key focus of this role is to help build and develop collaborative links with relevant agencies, professional practitioners, and fellow parents to develop a wide support network for siblings, parents/carers and the wider family, and to offer regular workshops on topics such as dietary, or eating matters, inter familial relationships, irregular or poor sleeping patterns, and obsessive behaviours.
You
Ideally you will be a qualified teacher, social worker or police officer with previous pastoral and liaison experience, ideally within a SEN school. Excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential alongside a collaborative approach to working with external agencies, professional practitioners and parents. You must be confident in handling challenging conversations. You will share our passion for ensuring that each pupil is recognised as an individual and treated with respect. Previous experience of supporting needs associated with autism and an understanding of the processes involved in EHCPs. A driving licence and car are essential for this position.

This is a term time plus position working 42 weeks per year, 40 hours per week; flexibility in hours will be essential to work effectively with our families and young people. You can expect to receive a salary in the range of £40,000 - £45,000 per year, this includes holiday pay (holidays must be taken in the school holidays).
