The Village Federation is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic SENCO and Behaviour Lead on a maternity cover basis to work across the four schools within our federation:

Brassington, Carsington, FitzHerbert and Kirk Ireton Primary Schools. This is an exciting opportunity to join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal
role in ensuring that provision for pupils with SEND and behavioural needs remains of the highest quality throughout the duration of this temporary
post.
If you have the skills, knowledge and passion to help lead and develop inclusive practice across a federation of schools, we would be delighted to hear
from you.

It is a very exciting time at The Village Federation.

Our schools are places where creativity and innovation are welcomed, and we are keen to meet practitioners who can build upon our existing strengths and help maintain the excellent provision already in place for our children.
This role carries no timetabled class teaching commitment, allowing the successful candidate to focus fully on supporting and enhancing SEND and
behaviour provision across all four schools.

We are looking for a skilled professional who can deliver training, model best practice, work directly with children, liaise effectively with families and external
agencies, coordinate funding applications, and provide expert support to colleagues across the federation.

We are committed to evidence-based practice and believe every child should have full access to a rich, ambitious and inspiring curriculum. The successful
candidate will share this commitment and work collaboratively to ensure the best possible outcomes for all pupils.

We offer high-quality CPD and support for career progression within a flexible, supportive and dedicated team. We are also proud that three of our
schools are Church of England schools, and it is important that applicants are willing to support and controlled upon completion uphold the ethos and values associated with Church school education.

This post is a fixed-term maternity cover position, commencing on 7th December 2026 and continuing until the end of the October half term 2027, working 0.80 FTE.

We would also welcome applications for a secondment arrangement and are happy to work collaboratively with another school to facilitate this.
If applying on a secondment basis, please make this clear within your application.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact us to express an interest or to discuss the role in more detail with the Executive Headteacher.

Subject to the appropriate pre-employment checks, the successful candidate will be invited to commence employment on 7th December 2026.

The Village Federation offers an excellent working environment where talent is nurtured, work-life balance is valued and everyone is determined to
create a happy and successful environment for children and adults alike. To learn more about our vision for everyone involved in school, please visit:
