    The Opportunity

We are seeking an Administrative & Compliance Manager — a motivated, organised, and compassionate professional who will play a vital role in supporting the smooth and compliant running of our Federation, while demonstrating flexibility in working across both of our school offices on set days.

Working under the direction of the Business Manager, this is a key leadership role within our administrative team. You will coordinate the work of the Admin Officer and Admin Assistants, ensuring effective systems and compliance across finance, HR, personnel, communications, and administration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic, people-centred environment, values teamwork, and has a strong eye for financial accuracy, compliance, and excellent customer service. You will also work closely with the Heads of the Schools to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly — from staff cover and communication systems to supporting external partnerships such as universities and training providers offering placements within our schools. You will also take a shared role in developing our lettings and community use of facilities, ensuring promotion is on going and that all health and safety and safeguarding requirements are met.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee and coordinate the work of the administrative team across both schools, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

    • Support the Business Manager in ensuring financial compliance, accurate reporting, and adherence to audit and policy requirements.

    • Work closely with the Heads of Schools to coordinate internal communications, organise staff cover, and manage operational needs.

    • Liaise with external partners, including universities, training providers, and other agencies, regarding placements, collaborations, and professional development opportunities.

    • Develop, monitor, and refine administrative and office systems to ensure efficiency and consistency across the federation.

    • Provide exceptional customer service to parents, visitors, staff, and external stakeholders.

    • Support HR and personnel processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and maintenance of staff records.

    • Liaise with the Head of Estates regarding lettings management — promoting community use of our facilities while ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding protocols.

    • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including GDPR, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements.

    • Assist with risk assessments, internal audits, and the preparation of reports for the Business Manager and senior leaders.

    About You

    You will be:

    • A confident and experienced administrator, ideally with experience in a school or public sector environment.

    • Skilled in financial procedures, compliance, and budget monitoring.

    • An excellent communicator, able to build strong, positive relationships at all levels.

    • A team leader who motivates and supports others while maintaining high standards.

    • Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism.

    • Compassionate and empathetic, with a genuine commitment to putting children at the heart of every decision.

    Desirable experience:

    • Experience in managing or coordinating lettings, venue hire, or facilities.

    • Knowledge of HR processes, compliance, or health & safety.

    • Familiarity with school management systems (e.g. SIMS, Arbor, or similar).

    What We Offer

    • A welcoming, supportive, and collaborative team across both schools.

    • A positive working culture that values professionalism, trust, and well-being.

    • Opportunities for ongoing professional development.

    • The chance to make a real difference in a busy, thriving, and happy federation.

    How to Apply

If you have the energy, enthusiasm, and skills to fit into our friendly and forward-thinking federation, we would love to hear from you. Please apply online via Havering Schools Jobs and include a supporting statement outlining your relevant experience and why you are the right person for this role.

Closing Date: 5th November, 12 noon.
