Are you a recently qualified Finance Graduate or an experienced Finance Officer looking to further your career and gain sponsorship for the CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) professional qualification, in a role that offers excellent career development and future prospects.

What will you be doing?

During your training period you will be given opportunities to experience the whole range of financial work needed to support the organisation, which will include:

  • supporting the Assistant Director and Group Accountants in providing accurate and timely information for the monthly budget process, ensuring effective control and use of financial resources.
  • provide support, advice, scrutiny and challenge to budget managers in the preparation of revenue and capital budget monitoring.
  • assist in the closure of accounts and production of the Annual Statement of Accounts.

About you

As an ideal candidate, you will have:

  • AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification and membership or equivalent degree.
  • experience in a busy finance administration role, within an office environment, preferably local government, although new finance graduate applications are also welcome.
  • the ability to work well under pressure and organise your time efficiently, with the ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
  • excellent numeracy skills and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
