Fire Risk Assessor
We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Fire Risk Assessor to join our Fire Safety Team. In this role you’ll help ensure the safety of our residents and visitors by conducting thorough fire risk assessments across our property portfolio. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify risks, recommend improvements, and support the delivery of a robust fire safety programme. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in fire safety, with full support for training and development, including working towards professional membership of a professional body and, if desired, Third-Party Accreditation through the National Fire Risk Assessors Register.
You’ll be part of a high-performing team committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining safe homes, meeting regulatory standards, and enhancing customer confidence in our services. You will be required to attend our offices from time to time for meetings or team activities, as necessary.
What you'll do
You’ll carry out fire risk assessments (FRAs) on nominated properties, producing timely and accurate reports that feed into our fire safety management system. You’ll review existing fire precautionary measures, identify areas for improvement, and support the creation of action plans. You’ll use fire risk assessment software where appropriate and contribute to the team’s quality assurance process by reviewing assessments and sharing best practice. You’ll liaise with operational teams and customers to resolve fire safety queries, ensuring expectations are managed and solutions are pragmatic. You’ll also support the planning and delivery of the FRA programme, prioritising assessments as needed and helping to maintain accurate records and performance data. As part of your development, you’ll undertake specific training and be encouraged to work towards professional accreditation.
What you'll need
- NEBOSH Fire or equivalent fire safety qualification
- Demonstrable experience in conducting fire risk assessments, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently and effectively
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal teams, contractors, and residents
