About us

Foster4 is a pioneering foster carer recruitment service. Based at Warrington Borough Council’s offices, we are a collaborative project, recruiting foster carers on behalf of eight Cheshire and Merseyside Local Authorities: Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St Helens, Warrington and Wirral.

By pooling our resources, we aim to recruit even more foster carers, provide even greater support to the ones we have, and ultimately keep more local children with local foster carers.

The role

In this role, you will provide support, guidance, and training to foster carers who care for children and young people who have experienced trauma and may have additional needs.

Using a therapeutic, trauma informed approach means creating a safe and supportive environment so that the needs of each child can be met, taking into consideration their life experiences so far and recognising and responding to the impact of trauma on their development, behaviour, and emotional needs.

Foster4 use models such as PACE, Attachment, Trauma Informed Practice and more.

What's needed?

Prior experience working with and supporting adults would be beneficial for this role.

Direct work experience with vulnerable children and their families, and Foster Carers within a social care setting.

Experience of statutory children’s social work or relevant experience with children/families within a voluntary agency or health trust.

Benefits

As well as a competitive salary, working for us means you get:

  • 26 days annual holiday - raising to 31 after 5 years of service (pro-rata)
  • Access to our attractive and competitive benefits package
  • Access to our Health & Wellbeing Programme
