About the role
We have an exciting opportunity working for Crawley Homes within our Garages team. As our Garages Officer, you’ll take responsibility for the full management of garage tenancies and related assets. You’ll maintain accurate records, manage waiting lists, support income collection and ensure garages are safe, secure and ready to let quickly. From monitoring site conditions to liaising with colleagues across the council, your work will play a key part in maximising income and improving customer satisfaction.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of office working, customer contact and on-site visits.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- organised and detail‑focused, able to prioritise a varied workload
- a strong communicator, confident on the phone, face‑to‑face and in writing
- numerate and analytical, with good IT skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
- customer-focused, professional and able to build positive working relationships
- able to negotiate solutions, work flexibly and represent the council effectively
- ideally housing management programmes experience
Essential experience and qualifications:
- experience using computerised accounting systems
- experience working with members of the public
- good working knowledge of office systems and processes
- GCSEs (A to C) or equivalent in English and Maths
- full UK driving licence (ability to use a pool vehicle required)
For office cover there will be a requirement to work onsite during the probational period. However, hybrid working may become optional further along the line.
