Gas Engineer – Deliver Safe, High-Quality Repairs and Exceptional Customer Service
Are you an experienced Gas Engineer who takes pride in delivering excellent workmanship and customer service? At Peabody, you'll play a vital role in keeping our residents safe and comfortable by carrying out gas installations, servicing, repairs and fault finding to the highest standards.
Working within occupied homes, you'll be responsible for delivering a professional, compliant and customer-focused service, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations and manufacturer requirements.
What you'll do
- Carry out gas installations, servicing, repairs and fault finding within domestic properties
- Commission appliances and complete all required certification and documentation, including Benchmark and LGSR certificates
- Install and maintain unvented hot water systems and carry out power flushing activities
- Ensure all work complies with Gas Safe regulations, Health & Safety requirements and company procedures
- Maintain accurate job records, reports and compliance documentation
- Build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, contractors and stakeholders
- Take ownership of customer issues and complaints, providing effective solutions and updates throughout
- Maintain appropriate van stock levels and ensure materials are ordered in line with company specifications
- Report safety concerns, regulatory contraventions or operational risks promptly
- Participate in the Out of Hours (OOH) standby rota to support emergency response requirements
What you'll need
- CCN1 – ACS Gas Safe Core Gas Safety Certificate
- CEN1 – ACS Gas Safe Central Heating Boilers
- CKR1 – ACS Gas Safe Cookers and Hobs
- HTR1 – ACS Gas Safe Gas Fires
- WAT1 – ACS Gas Safe Water Heaters
- CPA1 – ACS Gas Safe Flue Gas Analysis
- UHW – Unvented Hot Water Cylinders
- Experience installing, servicing and repairing a range of boiler makes and models
- Competence in central heating control wiring in line with Part P regulations
- Experience working within occupied residential properties
- Awareness of manual handling, ladder safety, working at height, abrasive wheels, first aid and Health & Safety requirements
- Part L and Part P qualifications desirable

This role involves working in occupied homes and delivering gas installations, servicing and repairs safely and professionally. You must hold the required Gas Safe qualifications and be committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and customer service.
You will also be required to participate in the Out of Hours (OOH) standby rota.
This role is subject to a DBS check.
